Mr. Ben Hunt
Principal
It is an honor to return to Valley Point Middle after 19 years to serve as the school’s principal. Valley Point was where I began my teaching career in Whitfield County, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have come full circle.
Over the past 19 years, I’ve served as an administrator at two other schools in our district. In that time, Valley Point has seen many exciting improvements! While the building has undergone impressive changes since I was last here, the heart of VPM remains the same—its strong ties to the community, its dedicated staff, and the wonderful families it serves.
I look forward to working with each of you in the upcoming year to support our students as they learn and grow. Family and community involvement are essential to student success, and I invite you to partner with us as we continue the tradition of excellence that Valley Point is known for.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email. I look forward to meeting you and working together to make this the best school year yet!

Mrs. Jennifer Leaderer
Assistant Principal
My name is Jennifer Leaderer and I am very excited to be a part of the Greenwave family. My passion is fostering an innovative learning environment where we prepare students to be problem solvers for the future. During my 23 years of experience in education, I have focused on building authentic relationships to encourage excellence in our students.
I began my career in engineering. I have my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University. After working as an engineer for a few years, I decided to follow in my mother's footsteps and become an educator. I got my Master's in Education for middle grades math and science from Berry College. I continued to learn by completing my doctoral courses in Curriculum/Instruction and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year of partnering with our families and community to make Valley Point Middle School an example of excellence.
